Closing Day

Credit Do’s & Don’ts Before Closing

Under contract? Here are a few do’s and don’ts until you get those keys.

Credit dos and don’ts before mortgage closing
01

Do

Keep paying your bills on time, keep your money where it is, save your paystubs and bank statements, and call me before making any financial changes.

02

Don’t

Do not buy a car, open a credit card, finance furniture, change jobs, move large amounts of money around, co-sign for anyone, or suddenly decide your new house needs $15,000 worth of furniture before you actually own it.

03

Keep the financial picture the same

Your loan is approved based on the financial picture we have right now. Change the picture and underwriting may want to have another conversation.

04

When in doubt, call me first

I would much rather answer a two-minute question than spend two days trying to fix it.
