Mortgage Strategy

Mortgage broker or direct lender?

A direct lender offers its available products. A broker can compare options from multiple wholesale lenders to find a fit for the borrower and property.

Mortgage broker versus direct lender
01

More places to look

I currently have access to 30+ lenders, creating more options for standard and specialty scenarios. Access does not mean every lender or program fits every file.

02

One no is not every no

Guidelines, pricing, overlays, property rules, and income calculations can differ. A responsible second option may exist when the first structure does not work.

03

Compare the whole offer

Review rate, APR, points, lender credits, fees, service, lock terms, and loan suitability. Broker does not automatically mean cheaper, and direct lender does not automatically mean better.

04

Let me do the homework

I will compare available programs and explain why a particular structure fits, so you can focus on the home instead of translating 30 rate sheets.
